Amino Acid Intravenous (IV) Therapy
An addiction is a craving for a substance, but it also refers to a tolerance, meaning you constantly need higher doses to achieve the desired effect. That’s because the brain has neuro-receptors that receive signals from natural neurotransmitters like dopamine, serotonin and norepinephrine, the so-called “feel good” brain chemicals.
Drugs and alcohol mimic this effect, but they over-stimulate the nerves and damage the very receptors they are stimulating. It then takes more of the drug to get past the damage and achieve the high. Because the damaged receptors are no longer functioning well, the person is left feeling depressed or anxious. They theny use more of the drug to overcome these feelings and become trapped in a vicious downward spiral.
Our agency uses a proprietary intravenous solution of amino acids (the building blocks that make up all the proteins in our bodies) which actually rebuilds the damaged areas of the brain. These basic amino acids are specially formulated to be able to penetrate and positively influence the brain.
Because amino acids give the brain what it craves in a natural, non-habit-forming way, while rebuilding neurotransmitters, cravings begin to recede very rapidly. In our experience, cravings are usually gone within the first three days, with very few (if any) withdrawal symptoms.

During the course of the 10 days of detox, you will be the entire focus of our treatment center's staff and support personnel!

• A nutritionist is also available to meet with our detox patients and go over what food plans will work best to keep them stabilized over the long haul. )
• The Fresh Start Treatment Agency’s staff will help you create a "plan of action," involving diet, supplements, exercise, and other measures, to put Biochemical Rebalancing into action and incorporate it into life after detox.
• Finally, towards the end of the 10-day NORAA program, our Addiction Counselor will work one-on-one with each patient to help plan their next steps in a sober future.

After 10 days of NORAA treatment, most patients will have shaken any physical remnants of their addiction through the formula of amino acids and vitamins for alcohol and drug detox. Then begins the rehabilitation process, which can include therapy, counseling, 12-step meetings, and diligent aftercare. Relapse in drug and alcohol addiction is an all-too-prevalent occurrence. After NORAA, the patient will never be able to use the substance casually; otherwise, the work of NORAA will be undone.
