Additional Therapy Benefits
Acupuncture
Acupuncture is the technique of inserting and manipulating filiform needles into ‘acupuncture points’ on the body with the aim of restoring health and well-being. Acupuncturists are experts in treating pain, disease and other imbalances. Acupuncture points are connected points across the body which affect a specific organ or other part of a person, as well as numerous other points that are not associated with a particular meridian.
The process involves the insertion of sterile, thin, filament-like needles inserted into points on the skin that are active in an energetic sense. The energy we are referring to is not amorphous or airy-fairy, it simply is beyond the present capacity of our instruments to measure.
The needles used contact the points on these energy meridians where there is excess or deficient flow, and the acupuncturist uses them as a tool to make necessary adjustments. The meridians are connected with the body’s internal organs, so the flow determines the relative health of the individual from an internal medicine standpoint. The effects of acupuncture in general are regulatory.
Most patients experience a feeling of well-being after or during the treatment that can last hours or days afterward.
Massage Therapy
In addition to relieving stress and promoting an overall feeling of relaxation and well-being, professional massage therapy increases circulation, stimulates the body’s lymphatic system (very important in detoxing) and strengthens the immune system. We have found that bodywork is a valuable component in the recovery process.

After 10 days of NORAA treatment, most patients will have shaken any physical remnants of their addiction through the formula of amino acids and vitamins for alcohol and drug detox. Then begins the rehabilitation process, which can include therapy, counseling, 12-step meetings, and diligent aftercare. Relapse in drug and alcohol addiction is an all-too-prevalent occurrence. After NORAA, the patient will never be able to use the substance casually; otherwise, the work of NORAA will be undone.
